SILVER BRIDGE RUN
SILVER BRIDGE RUN
Designed for rail bike riders looking for a bit more exertion, our Silver Bridge run is a 12.5-mile round trip tour, which begins by taking guests over our traditional route along the winding Rio Grande and enters the lower section of the Coller State Wildlife area.
We then proceed north in the shadow of the beautiful Palisades (please watch out for our Prairie Dog friends!), then through Middle and Upper Coller, keeping riders within a stone's throw of the Rio Grande. In Upper Coller, the forest provides a cool canopy for you as we leave the Ponderosa Pines behind and enter the land of giant Spruce trees trackside.
After exiting the Spruce and Aspen, riders pedal over the Rio Grande on the old Denver Rio Grande Silver Bridge and shortly thereafter take a break at our riverside turnaround where you rest, enjoy snacks or even dip your toes in the Rio Grande before heading back to our South Fork Depot. This trip lasts approximately 2.5 to 3 hours and, while a relatively flat run, does require some exertion.
