RAILS TO RIVER | SOUTH
Rails to River South combines the 11:00 am South River Run rail bike excursion with a tubing trip down the Hudson River. South River Run is an effortless 8-mile round trip, hugging the Hudson River with beautiful views throughout the journey. Rail bikers enjoy a mixed canopy of trees and wildflowers with abundant milkweed, virtually ensuring butterfly sightings in summer. At our halfway point, riders are welcome to walk down to the banks of the Hudson while the rail bikes are turned around for our return trip, highlighted by views of Gore Mountain.
Once the rail bike trip is complete, riders have approximately 45 minutes before the tubing adventure begins. This allows time to change your gear and grab some lunch. Our tubing partners pick customers up at the Depot for a 5-minute shuttle up the road. The float back to the Depot takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
Note: Water shoes or sandals with a heel strap are required. Flip-flops or bare feet are not allowed. Water shoes are available for purchase at the Depot.
